Supported living provides support to enable people to live as independently as possible.

Help with day to day living at home

You can get help with:

  • Your personal care, such as washing, bathing or dressing, or
  • Getting in or out of bed.
  • Setting up and maintaining a home
  • Managing money, paying bills, dealing with paperwork and claiming benefits
  • Developing domestic and life skills such as shopping or cooking.

Supported tenancies

Supported tenancies cover a range of accommodation and adapted properties usually shared by a small group of tenants with staff, based in the home, providing support with day to day living, from a few hours a day, up to 24 hours a day.

Adult placements

Adult placements are available for people with a social care need. Placements are arranged in the homes of carers who have been recruited, trained and approved.

They provide:

  • Short term care, lasting anything from one night to a few weeks
  • Long term, providing the opportunity for the person receiving support to live as part of the family
  • Sessional Care, time spent with an approved carer, either at their home or out in the local community.
